Trix rules

How Kemlet scores Trix: kingdoms, contracts, card values, doubling and the Trix deal.

Kingdoms and contracts

  • There are 4 kingdoms and each player owns one. The owner picks the contract for each deal, and each contract is played once per kingdom.
  • The first kingdom goes to whoever holds the 7 of hearts, then passes to the next seat.
  • In Complex, the four negative contracts are played together in one deal, then the Trix.
  • Play solo, or as partners in two teams of 2; partners enter what both of them took together.
Format Contracts per kingdom Deals
Complex Complex, Trix 8
Classic King of Hearts, Queens, Diamonds, Tricks, Trix 20

Card values

  • In the negative contracts, every card you take counts against you.
  • The diamond and trick values are picked in the settings.
Card Diamond 10, trick 15 Diamond 15, trick 10
King of Hearts -75 -75
Each queen -25 -25
Each diamond -10 -15

Doubling

  • The King of Hearts and the queens can be doubled.
  • Whoever takes a doubled card pays double, and whoever doubled it gains its value.
  • Double your own card and take it yourself (or your team does, as partners) and you pay double, with no bonus for anyone.
  • Doubling can be turned off in the settings.

  • As partners, each player's points go to their team.
