Basra is a fast card game for 2 to 4 players. You capture cards from the table, and a basra (sweeping the whole table) scores the highest. Easy to start, hard to stop, and a good warm-up before the night gets serious.
It sweeps everything in one go, so use it when there is something worth taking.
A single card on the table hands your opponent an easy basra.
You will know when the table is safe and when a jack is still out there.
The 10 of diamonds and the 2 of clubs carry extra points, so don't give them away.
At many tables a queen only takes a queen and a king only takes a king. They can't be added up.
Some tables give it a special power, taking the table or scoring a basra on its own.
