Basra is a fast card game for 2 to 4 players. You capture cards from the table, and a basra (sweeping the whole table) scores the highest. Easy to start, hard to stop, and a good warm-up before the night gets serious.

How to play
Players: 2 to 4, and 4 play in two teams.
Deck: 52 cards. Deal 4 to each player and 4 face-up on the table.
Play: On your turn lay a card. Capture a table card of the same rank, or number cards that add up to your card. A Jack sweeps everything on the table.
Basra: Clearing the whole table with a normal card (not a Jack) and leaving it empty is a basra, worth 10 points.
Scoring: Each Jack 1, each Ace 1, the 10 of diamonds 3, the 2 of clubs 2, most cards 30, and each basra 10.
Winning: First player or team to 101 wins.
